Wells Township is located in southeast Jefferson County, Ohio with the beautiful Ohio River bordering. The population is 3,130; with 39% urban and 61% rural. Farming, mining and industrial employment are throughout the local area. There are many churches, an elementary and a middle school with the high school being in close proximity. A community park, pool and playground are in the village of Brilliant. A new Little League Ball Field was just completed in 2008. Wells Township will be celebrating the 4th of July on
Friday July 3rd, 2009 with swimming at the Brilliant
Pool from 12:00PM - 6:00PM. Admission $1.00,
this entitles you to a free hot dog, chips and a pop
(while supplies last).
Children's Parade starts at 6:00PM. Line-up will
start at the pool. Trophies will be given for the best
decorated pet, bicycle and most unusual riding vehicle.
The Flag Raising Ceremony will begin at 7:45PM on
the Buckeye North Middle School's Football Field,
presented by: The Brilliant American Legion Post 573,
The Wells Township Police Dept. and the Brilliant Fire
Dept.
Ron Retzer Extraordinar Performs at 8:00PM at the
Buckeye North Middle School Football Field.
